ESI Fall 2002 Announcement of Intent to Award
  •  
    		•  ESI has completed the initial evaluation of the bids submitted in response to the Fall 2002 Request for Proposals, and has developed a recommended list of resources to be acquired at this time from among the responses to the RFP.
  •  
    		•  The proposed slate of resources includes approximately 550 MW of gas-fired, load following resources, located in various regions within the Entergy System, that were bid in response to the RFP.
  •  
    		•  ESI also has identified several long-term, life-of-unit proposals that may have potential economic merit, and these proposals have been short-listed for further discussions.
  •  
    		•  The proposed slate of resources has been reviewed by the Entergy Operating Committee, and the Operating Committee has authorized ESI to pursue acquisition of the resources included in the procurement supply plan to meet ESI’s 2003 needs.
  •  
    		•  ESI will notify all bidders regarding the status of their bids on December 13, 2002, and will begin the process of finalizing the acquisition of the products chosen from the bids offered through the RFP. ESI intends to limit the negotiations associated with these resources to discussions regarding terms and conditions. Economic terms are not subject to further negotiations, and ESI expects bidders substantially to conform to the terms and conditions of the model contracts. ESI also will begin further discussions with the short-listed LOU bidders.
